Dela Cruz: Team Pagbabago gaining support

MEXICO – The Liberal Party Team Pagbabago mayoral bet Albert Dela Cruz said that the party is gaining support from the third district of Pampanga after members of Christian churches vowed to push the self-branded “People of God” into the municipal hall.

In an interview, Dela Cruz noted that more support coming from other sectors has been received by Team Pagbabago composed of vice mayoralty candidate Dr. Marvin Edrosolam, and councilor bets Maricel Lagman, pastors Roger Bondoc, Ronnie Guevarra, Ali Briones, Dennis Pagcu, Jessie Manalang, Salvador Manalili.

“We have reports indicating our continuous rise in different independent surveys last March by as much as 12 percent. And that was before the campaign period opened. Hopefully the trend will continue,” Dela Cruz said.

He also said that the survey results are being used by Team Pagbabago as guides in identifying their strong and weak areas.

“If the results like that one from a local political party are near accurate, then we could enhance our strategies as we reach out to more Mejicanos in our efforts to bring change and reforms in this town. Our core advocacy is in line with the President’s Tuwid na Daan and we will go for that as more and more of our townsfolk are beginning to see the goodness in Team Pagbabago,” Dela Cruz said

Angara backs programs of SUCs in aviation sector

TEAM PNoy senatorial candidate Edgardo “Conny” M. Angara supports expansion programs of some state colleges and universities (SUCs) that want to venture into basic aviation training courses.

Angara said the aviation sector needs its own “demographic sweet spot” trained on airline maintenance and other aspects of ground operation and the planned expansion of the SUCs would surely tap the people it would train from the low-income groups.

Some SUCs in Central Luzon with campuses near the Clark International Airport (CIA) have firmed up programs focused on aviation support, including the Don Honorio Ventura State University, which is a major engineering and technical training school in the area, said Angara.

“As aviation infrastructure expands, as our carriers acquire more commercial planes, as our airports are clearing up safety issues, we need sweet demographics for the aviation sector. And who can train young people on these technical skills but the SUCs with track record in engineering and technical training,” Angara said.

Angara said that even private entities have pledged to support the venture of the SUCs – especially those near Clark Airport – on aviation training.

President Benigno Aquino III, during the groundbreaking ceremony for a major upgrade of the Roxas City airport in Capiz province on Wednesday, said that the aviation industry is ready to “soar again” and a massive airport infrastructure program has started.
