AC commemorates Rizal’s 151st birthday

RIZAL’S BIRTHDAY. Acting Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting together with the Order of the Knights of Rizal headed by Supreme Commander Reghis M. Romero II lead the wreath-laying rites in commemoration of Dr.. Jose Rizal’s 151st birthday at the City Hall compound during Monday’s flag raising ceremony.

ANGELES CITY – The local government unit here, together with the Order of the Knights of Rizal (KOR), simple rites observed in honor of the celebration of the 151st birthday of our national hero, Dr.. Jose Rizal.

Acting Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting led the wreath laying ceremonies and was joined by the officers and members of KOR headed by their Supreme Commander Reghis Romero and the flag raising rites held Monday at the Quezon City Hall Compound.

In her speech at the celebration, Vega-Cabigting said that Rizal is a great example for displaying the Filipino spirit through His selflessness and love for the country.

“Let us not Allow the death of Rizal to die in the current generation. Should not the death symbolize our loss of hope, but a challenge to manifest Should employees of the city government on how They can put a ‘death’ to complacency in the workplace, “Vega-Cabigting said.

For His part, Romero relived the life of our national hero through a short story detailing how Rizal’s values from childhood until His death Should be emulated by Filipinos everywhere.

“We Should emulate the heroism of Dr. Rizal, whose supreme sacrifice paved the way for the freedom the country enjoys, “Romero said.

He added that “the love of country is the most heroic Which value we can display.”

Romero also lauded Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan and administration in giving His importance in the commemoration of the birth and death of Rizal every year.

Currently, the KOF has 15 active chapters in Angeles City, Which members come from the Philippine National Police, the business sector, senior citizens, officials from the Tropang Crime Watch and other public and private organizations.

Republic Act 646 officially recognizes the Order of the Knights of Rizal as a convenient instrumentalities by Which the teachings of our national hero we may be propagated to the end our people that They emulate and follow His examples.

Rizal, a polymath, Patriot and prominent advocate for reform in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era, was executed by a firing squad of the Spanish rulers on Dec. 30, 1896.
