\nIn a nutrition forum held recently at Holiday Inn, DOST Regional Director Victor Mariano said that this project is aimed to address poverty, which is one of the root causes of malnutrition in the country, and to assist small and medium enterprises.
\nOne notable business which benefited from this project is the renowned Amanda Marine Products in Balanga City, Bataan which sells dried fish, smoked fish, sauteed shrimp paste, and bottled milkfish.
\nIn order to avail the SET-UP funds, the applicant must send a letter of interest to avail the SET-UP assistance together with the requirements to the DOST Regional Director\u2019s Office; and, identify current problems, improvements, and potential technological interventions needed.
\nIf the project is found viable, the DOST Regional Office shall endorse it to the National Program Management Office for evaluation and final approval.
\nThose who would like to avail of the said project, according to Mariano, may visit DOST Regional Office 3 at Diosdado Macapagal Government Center in Barangay Maimpis, City of San Fernando.
\nSET-UP is a nationwide strategy to encourage and assist SMEs to adopt technological innovations to improve their operations and thus boost their productivity and competitiveness.
