CITY OF SAN FERNANDO \u2013 The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Pampanga facilitated an orientation seminar on local governance for all Sanggunian Bayan members from the 19 municipalities and two cities in the province.<\/p>\n
The activity, with the theme \u201cBe Bold and aim for the B.E.S.T.\u201d, gave pointers to the newly elected councilors in the performance of their duties and responsibilities as municipal and city lawmakers.<\/p>\n
B.E.S.T stands for Business Friendly and Competitive Local Government Unit (LGU), Environment Protective, Climate Change Adoptive and Disaster Resilient LGU, Socially Protective and Safe LG, and Transparent, Accountable, Participative and Effective.<\/p>\n
Lubao Councilor John Susi said the orientation is one of the many steps to take towards being an outstanding leader because it gave them the idea of possible resolutions and ordinances to pass in order to achieve the B.E.S.T.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll of us want to achieve excellence in public service. But we must admit that willingness to be outstanding requires experience and series of learnings that we can also get from seminars and workshops given by authorities in this area,\u201d Susi said.<\/p>\n
Susi shared that the important virtues inculcated to them are transparency in all transactions in the government, being responsible and accountable for all the actions and decisions made as a legislator, being active in decision making and being effective Sanggunian Bayan member through passage of laws beneficial to the people.\u25cfJENNA LUMBANG<\/p>\n

\nHe suspected that the unidentified men were probably members of a notorious syndicate responsible for the growing number of missing children in other places.<\/p>\n
\nHe said he has already instructed all police station commanders in the province to implement foot and mobile patrols for police visibility in areas near school premises.<\/p>\n
