ANGELES CITY\u2013President Benigno Aquino III has signed Republic Act 10582 or an Act that creates six additional branches of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Angeles City.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe thank President Aquino and Congress for such. This would bring our total number of branches here to 12,\u201d said RTC Executive Judge Omar Viola.<\/p>\n
It was only last January 29 that Pampanga 1st district representative Carmelo Lazatin filed the bill requesting for the creation of the courts.<\/p>\n
On the same day it was referred to the Committee on Rules, a Committee Report was made, then calendared for reading.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am very optimistic that the Office of the Court Administrator will prioritize the creation of the Angeles courts. The present courts try the cases of the 1,800 detainees at the Angeles City District Jail. These cases emanate from the towns of Magalang, Porac and Mabalacat and Angeles City.
