LUBAO, Pampanga\u2013Gov. Lilia Pineda said the provincial government targets zero casualty for mothers during pregnancy and in giving birth this year.
\nPineda, who attended the free check-ups and consultation administered by the provincial health office (PHO) in the Second District, told pregnant mothers that she will help those who will undergo caesarian at the provincial and district hospitals at minimal cost to the family.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe programs of the provincial government is not limited to free check-ups and consultation. We will also help in the expenses of those who will undergo caesarian section operation,\u201d Pineda declared.<\/p>\n
Dr. Imelda Labrador, provincial health officer for public health, stated that the assistance of the Capitol for mothers starts from conception to postnatal.<\/p>\n
She said the free consultation and check-ups are crucial for six-to-nine-month pregnant women in order to ensure the safety and protection of the mother and the child.<\/p>\n
\u201cConsultation to health professionals is very important in monitoring the condition of pregnant mom. Early detection of any complications or disease will lessen the possibility of deaths,\u201d said Labrador.<\/p>\n
The maternal health care program of the provincial government consists of immunization, consultation to health professionals and giving away vitamins for health pregnancy.<\/p>\n
Aside from these, Pineda distributed \u201cBuntis Kits\u201d to 1,000 pregnant mothers of the district who were also the recipients of the health care program.
