CITY OF SAN FERNANDO \u2013 Flood-affected barangays in the province have been reduced to 98, said the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC).
\nPDRRMC reported several communities in the towns of Sta. Ana, Apalit, Candaba, Macabebe, Masantol, Minalin, San Simon, Sto. Tomas, including this city remain inundated, even as the water level at the Pampanga River is going back to its normal level.
\nHundreds of families, who stayed along the Arayat-Apalit setback levee, have started returning to their respective houses located along the Arnedo Dike of the Pampanga River.
\nIn Candaba town, all major roads are now passable except the Baliwag-Candaba-Sta. Ana road along the San Agustin section. In Masantol, meanwhile, the barangay road along the stretch of Alauli, Bagang, Balibago, Sagrada and Sta. Lucia Anac is still not passable to all types of vehicles.
\nThe Provincial Government and other concerned groups have also sponsored free medical consultations to provide the immediate health needs of the flood-hit residents.
\nThe residents are also being given free medicines and those who opted to stay at evacuation centers are being provided with relief goods.
\nDuring the recent habagat (Southwest Monsoon), all barangays in the 4th district adjacent to this river were submerged in floodwaters. Thousands of families were displaced and forced to temporarily leave their houses.
