SAN LUIS — The Provincial Government recently promised to allocate P3 million to cover half of the actual selling price of a lot occupied by the newly established San Luis High School, formerly known as A. Gonzales Sioco High School here.
\nGovernor Lilia Pineda said Tuesday that the Capitol is determined to invest for the education of the young.
\n\u201cNung alang pormal a edukasyun, alang masanting a kinabukasan,\u201d Pineda told the officials and parents during the launching of the new school.
\nThe Municipal Government here started earlier negotiations with owners A. Gonzales Sioco High School for possible takeover in the amount of P6 million.
\nThe other P3 million will be shouldered by the local government here. It will be taken from the local government\u2019s Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA).
\nAs this developed, Mayor Venancio Macapagal lauded Governor Pineda for her show of concern for the education of the students in this town.
\nIt was also learned that more than 400 students are currently enrolled in this newly opened public school.
\nMacapagal and members of the Municipal Council saw this as a good investment since it would benefit the youth of San Luis and decided to push through with the project.
\n\u201cPara ya kareng anak ini, keng kinabukasan da,\u201d Macapagal declared.
\nMeanwhile, Pineda and the Municipal Government vowed to shoulder the teachers\u2019 salaries and operational expenses while waiting for the budget approval from the National Government.
\nJoining the governor during the launch were Board Members Nestor Tolentino, Ricardo Yabut, Monina Laus, Trina Dizon, Fritzie David Dizon, members of the Municipal Council, parents and students.
