CANDABA — Three mayoralty bets in this town who manifested their political plans for 2013 early on joined the brethren of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in the locale of Candaba as they commemorated the 126th birthday of Brother Felix Manalo (Ka Felix) on Saturday.
\nRey \u201cBusog\u201d Sagum, Patrick \u201cKuya Pat\u201d Pelayo and Rene \u201cPare\u201d Maglanque attended the grand evangelical mission held last Friday at INC\u2019s house of worship service in Barangay Pasig here.
\nThe first to come was Sagum along with a few supporters, followed by Pelayo joined by his girlfriend, and then Maglanque, backed by his loyal supporters in Barangay San Agustin.
\n\u201cDespite their differences in political ambition, they come united to greet the members of the Iglesia in commemorating the birth anniversary of Felix Manalo,\u201d a Catholic observer here said.
\nFelix Manalo was born in Barrio Calzada, Taguig, Rizal, on May 10, 1886. He was the first executive minister or “Tagapamahalang Pangkalahatan” of the Iglesia Ni Cristo.
\nThe INC members faithfully recognize Ka Felix as their “Sugo” or the “Last Messenger” of God in these last days who reestablished the first church founded by Christ in the first century which was apostatized after the death of the Apostles.
\nThis church is one of the major religious organizations in the Philippines known by its block voting in every election.
\nThe INC in this town has at least 10 local congregations.
