CITY OF SAN FERNANDO– Outgoing Governor Eddie \u201cAmong Ed\u201d Panlilio has alleged Monday in a press conference that those who voted for Governor-elect Lilia \u201cNanay Baby\u201d Pineda \u201cwere paid in cash and in kind in exchange of their votes.\u201d
\nPineda garnered 488,521 votes while Panlilio of the Liberal Party got 242,367 votes.
\nPanlilio said during the campaign period and even on election day, the camp of Pineda has allegedly been engaged in massive vote buying, which resulted to her landslide victory.
\nHe also said that even his relatives in Minalin were reportedly \u201cbought\u201d by Pineda. They allegedly received free items including rice and canned goods.
\n\u201cNamigay sila ng pera at mga grocery items sa mga botante. Hindi ba maituturing na vote buying iyon? Pati nga mga kamag-anak ko nabili nila,\u201d Panlilio added.
\nPanlilio, meanwhile, said that for now, he has no plan to file a protest before the Commission on Elections on his allegations of vote buying.
\nAs this developed, Pineda said that Panlilio should give a little respect and dignity to his fellow Kapampangans.
\nShe lamented that the people should not be blamed of Panlilio\u2019s shortcomings in running the affairs of the Provincial Government.
\nPineda believed that the people have spoken in the last elections.
\n\u201cPanlilio should stop issuing irresponsible statements to the public putting shame to Kapampangans. Let\u2019s respect the decision of our Kabalens as manifested by their votes,\u201d she stressed.<\/p>\n
